The Bloody Long Walk

Yep, it’s called The Bloody Long Walk and that’s exactly what it was…. Bloody Long!

On Sunday 2nd October, my friend Margaret and I walked 35kms to raise money for Mito Disease.  Whilst neither of us have a direct connection to this disease (thankfully) we participated to achieve a personal goal and I will be the first to put up my hand and say that it was the bloody hardest thing I have ever done.  Don’t let those smiles below fool you, with blisters under all of my toes the only time I was smiling was for pics!

It took us 8 hours, 44 minutes and 28 seconds but we finished exhausted and emotional (ok, I was the only one who was emotional) but mission accomplished, we finished!  Leading up to the walk I raised a total of $329 to go towards the research of this horrible disease without a cure.

I have to be honest, I kinda feel a bit ripped off that after almost 9 hours i didn’t lose 10 kgs but, hey….  there’s always next year.  What’s that time and fundraising amount to beat??!

Anyway, the least I could do was send everyone who donated a cute card to say Thank you.  Cased from Stampinpretty.com, I used this design and created it in 5 different bright colours.
